Had a wonderful week on the Jewels of the Med on the Thomson Spirit. The itinerary was excellent- Trapani was quiet, Naples was amazing, Corsica and Toulon were beautiful. Barcelona was a bit tatty in the Ramblas district, and we were late arriving in Corsica, but the weather was perfect. The ship is very good, and the Lido dining is much better than the Destiny. The Compass Rose restaurant wasn't always comfortable, as the waiters selected our table, and sometimes they were quick to make funny remarks- that wasn't really needed, as sometimes the service was very slow. The entertainment team were very friendly, but maybe they could do with a bit more experience and variety- the game shows were a little bit silly. The Top Men band were excellent- they were extremely versatile. Overall it was a wonderful holiday and I would definitely go again, but there were too many unsupervised children by the pool area (it was August). What a shame that the Spirit isn't sailing from Palma next year.
Quality of Food5
We used the Lido after the 2nd night as it had the same menus as the Compass Rose. In the Compass Rose we couldn't pick our table- it meant that the meals were too slow as we had to wait for others to finish 6 courses!
Entertainment4
Top Men band were excellent, although they joked around too much. The entertainers were very nice.
Shore Excursions3
Went on tour of Naples- very good for 23 pounds. Would have liked to go to Capri, but there was no tour available.
Staff4
Gemma & Laura from the entertainment team were very friendly.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities3
Nice Jacuzzi, but too many children using it.
Cabins4
Inside cabin was good size, but too much noise from mooring ropes in the mornings.
