when i read all the bad reviews about thomson majesty i wanted to cancel, i'm glad i didn't as my wife and i had a great time.
the trip from gatwick all the way to the ship was smooth and well organised. so ill start with the ship.
the cabin on dack 3 was a little small and wardrobe space was next to nothing so i had to keep all my shirts in the draws. but we managed ok. the cabin was kept very clean by the cabin stewards. had 2 film channels for those that stayed in cabin to rest.
the ship does vibrate a lot at times the back. did not bother me but a few complained. worst time was while having dinner at the rear restaurant, so no problem if you choose the central restaurant. The food was good and managed to get a table for 2 everyday at the same time. there is 24 hour food service on deck ten, but is hard to get a seat a times so remember this- there is a set of steps down to deck 9 right by the service counters, which takes you to a lovely lookout over the sea.
there are many drink packages available, if you both drink a lot i would go all in, but it was not worth it for me as my wife dont. the all in package does include cocktails and coffees like cappuccino which would cost £2.10 and some branded drinks like bacardi, smirnoff, cointreau and many whiskies including jonnie walker red. i think the best packages for me would have been the 35 pints of san miguel for about £95 or 35 large cans of boddingtons for about £99. there were many other packages available but took no notice of them. for cigarette smokers you can get 400 l&b for £30.60 on promotion night.
the entertainment was not varied enough (only one uk act) but the show team put on 3 top rated shows which were brilliant. to be honest i found no entertainment for me in the daytime but that was because i spent it sunbathing.
we only chose to go on 2 trips which were a fare price for what we got. sun beds were hard to get on the top deck at times but we always went for the ones on the sunny side of the promenade deck. which were a lot easier to get.
they have 2 free minnie daily newspapers at reception which always had the latest sports results.
i have been on 13 cruises so i am trying to rate this cruise on what i paid. (value for money) i think it was worth every penny.
Quality of Food
DINNER in the seven seas, was very good. as was the food all over the ship
the 10 person show team were great, i would give them 10/10. but the lack of other varied shows let them down a little
the 2 we had were good value for money.
all staff were always doing there best for you, with a smile.
not for me in the daytime but did not look out for them
a little small but served its purpose
