Like a lot of people I was worrried by a lot of bad reviews, especially as we were booked in for a 2 week cruise. Overall we enjoyed the holiday though and did not have any severe problems. Our cabins behaved themselves for the cruise, we were on the 5th and 7th deck evens side. This is not to say the ship has no problems at all though and the itinery is not what was purchased - the ship never has made it to Mahon Menorca and probably never will. Tunisia is pretty infrequent as well according to reviews.
On a machine this size and age you are going to get some problems in use but most problems that occur are fixed by the engineering teams. There are a few smells about in some corridors – I think the solution here is Tompsons need to junk any carpets that have suffered bad spills or leaks instead of trying to dry them out. If you want a brand new mega-ship like the P&O Ventura- then don't book Tompsons - however the food, service , evening entertainment are excellent and make up for minor problems elsewhere.
Day 1 could not leave port as repairs were being carried out so no Tunis - £50 compensation given to each.
If you have time in Palma there is a large shopping centre PortaPi right next to the port – just out of the port cross the main road go leftish and up the steps. Bus No 1 stops at the port terminal and is Euro1.25 to to Palma centre. Buses don’t go right into the centre but loop right around so you get out during the loop and walk in. the open top tour bus also calls at the port terminal.
At Naples a visit to Herculaneum is recommended if you have been to pompeii already
Florence and Pisa was a great trip despite the rain plus Livorno is an ugly port to spend a day on board.

Interesting as we were also in port overnight and next day in Marmaris because of generator failure on Celebration We were not offered any compensation although we missed out on 2 ports of call Were you offered OBC or did you receive your money after the holiday?

Yes we were given £50 per person credit , for the extra day in port, as soon as the coach reached the ship, before embarkation. Santa Margaritta was missed due to bad weather - visited Genova instead on a rainy day and a second visit made to Barcelona instead of Mahon, however no compensation is given for change of itinerary.

Has Anyone got informatiom as to whether Dream has ever docked in Mahon , we are booked for 2011 for Adults only week .See Destiny (which we,ve been on ) & Island Escape but had put this larger ship going to Mahon as a major highlight - Did Menorca several years ago & enjoyed.
