This was our second cruise on the Thomson Destiny and I must say it was just as good as the first one that we went on. The facilities and service on board are excellent and you cannot fault any of the crew members who are all so friendly and eager to make your holiday a memorable experience. The Seven Seas restaurant provides first class cuisine with a varied 5 course menu to choose from every day and the service was oustanding. We dined in the Seven Seas restaurant every evening although if you prefer you can eat al fresco at the Lido restaurant which is all self service but still provides the same excellent food and varied choice on a 24 hour basis (if you happen to still feel hungry). We tended to use this restaurant during the day for lunch and afternoon tea (the scones with strawberry jam and cream are a must). The shows in the Can Can lounge each evening were first class and not to be missed and the Captains Cocktail Party was one of the highlights if you feel like dressing up and meeting the Captain. We had an inside cabin on deck 4 which was small but certainly adequate for all our needs and we were provided with clean towels every day. All the ports of call were really nice apart from Tangier which I can honesty say was not worth the effort of getting off the ship. I would definitely not bother to visit Tangier again as I felt very intimidated and unsafe walking around with the locals pestering you non stop but the other ports certainly made up for this one disappointing destination. The only disappointment on the ship was that the Buffet Manifique evening had been dropped from the itinerary and no explanation could be provided when we enquired about this. As this was a highlight not to be missed on our previous cruise we had highly recommended it to my sister and brother-in-law who joined us for their first cruise this year so therefore it was a bit of a let down for them that this was not included even though it was advertised in the brochure. Apart from this one disappointment a good time was had by all and I would definitely recommend the Thomson Destiny to anybody who is considering a cruise.

Opinion: Agree Comment by North, Huddersfield (21 Jun 09 22:41) about this REVIEW
Agree your ratings - the buffet magnifique has been stopped due to poor attendance and the cost of production of the food and displays and the amount of waste after the event. It would be better if it had continued on a smaller scale.
