My husband and i have just returned from 14 day cruise (7 days back to back) . we had never been on a cruise before so it was a new expierence for us. we were very impressed on arrival, the staff had us boarded in no time, it was very quick and without any pressure at all, most impressed . on entering the ship we were impressed by the smart clean pubic areas , it is kept very clean indeed which must be very hard to keep going with 1500+ people tramping around the carpets all day. we were advised not to bother with an outside cabin as you only got a port hole. big mistake you got a porthole on deck 2 but further up the ship cabins had windows, i would never book inside cabin again, you need daylight in the cabin. the cabins were in need of a revamp, very tired but we were expecting that after reading other reviews. we had booked 2nd sitting at meals but had to change after the first week to first sitting as we were not sitting down untill 0845 and not finishing eating untill 10.15 much too late for us , to tired to see the last caberet show, also a problem with us was that you couldnt sit where you wanted to you were allocated to a table of 6 +, we would have preferred to eat alone and we ended up by the end of the holiday eating all our meals in the lido buffet bar, when you could eat when you wanted on smaller tables. when i book another cruise i will definatley look for flexible eating arrangements. we went on several excursions and found them value for money with very informative couriers, as you only have a day in the port it is nice to make the most of the area. the only problem was and excursion in CORSICA , entitled THE MINI MOUNTAIN TRAIN AND SENICE CORSICA, don't go on this it was a rip off, quite a few people complained about this and in fact thomsons refunded money to us. it is not a train as we know it it is one of those tourist toy rides that takes you up a dirst track for approx 200 yards then a scramble to a viewpoint , the coach had no aircon and it cost £34 each. we all felt as we had been fleeced. taking everything into account it was an enjoyable if not relaxing (only because we choose to go off the boat and see all ports) 2 weeks and it has spurred us on to book another cruise with another company in the winter
