The flight from Bristol was smooth and efficient and we arrived early into Sharm. Then chaos! It took 45 minutes to reclaim our baggage as many flights seemed to arrive at roughly the same time. Eventually we found our coach and took about 25 minutes to get to the Port where we had to queue for about 10 minutes to be processed. Once on the ship things improved. Our cabin was fine and everyone seemed friendly. We enjoyed a quick drink before dinner and then watched the main show.
The first port of call was Aqaba but the first day there we stayed on board. We were among the very many who set out in hope to Petra the next morning only, after several stop, wait and starts, we finally were told the police had closed the road to Petra due to bad weather. Imagine the disappointment but it was nobody's fault. Thomson, to their credit, organised an extra tour to the Wadi Rum which proved a real experience, and I recommend future cruisers to avail themselves of this excursion.

The next excursions we went on was Pyramids and temples which again proved a great day. but it was a long day and one minor criticism is the time we spent at the Papyrus factory - 45 minutes, After this we chose Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. Again a marvellous day but extremely long, nearly 15 hours.

The meals on board we took at the Meridien and were of a very good quality. Our waiters, Louie, Armado and Jay were superb and treated us like royalty. The bars, too, were good, our favourite being the Horizon bar.
Also, we could not fault the entertainment: it was of a very high quality.

The return journey meant more chaos at Sharm airport where it was difficult to work out what queue to join and Thomson staff not very conspicuous. Things must improve at this airport or tourists will decide to stay away.

However, this did not detract from a marvellous holiday aboard a great ship. Do not let anyone tell you that Thomson is down market. They provide great cruise experiences which some other cruiselines would do well to emulate.

I thoroughly recommend this cruise.

The thomson's reps are not allowed at the airport that is why there is so much confusion nobody to ask , not Thomson's fault blame the Eygptians for the awful queing system.

I think we were on the same cruise. At Sharm Airport there were several Check-in desks marked for Thomson which seemed adequate for about three or four flights out about the same time. The main problem seemed to be caused by the extensive queues at the Monarch desks.
