Have just been back a month from my 7th cruise, this time being on Thomson Celebration on her Red Sea cruise.

The ship albeit old is very well kept, the cabin I was in had been refurbished since when I last cruise on Celebration. Very smart.

The staff are second to none - they can't do enough for you and hygiene is taking very seriously on board which is a good thing, even to the extent where they send hand cleaning squads on day trips to help people stay well during their cruises i.e while visiting Cairo etc - Well done Thomsons.

The food was excellent in the restaurant and service good. The midnight buffet was smaller than in previous years but loads of effort had gone into it. The Celebration has about 59 chefs on board which is amazing.

The entertainment was the best I've seen on Thomsons and Airtours so well done.

The cruise director, Keith Maynard was a very likeable person, even there to greet you when you returned from long days out on trips, unlike some of his predecessors who you'd be glad to see the back of!

Saving for next cruise.

trips run more smoothly with the new way they get people together, i.e tell people to go straight to coaches, brillant allows trips to leave on time at last yippey.

enjoy Paradise Island trip - snorkelling etc - great day out and Cairo trip to Step Pryamid etc and Cairo - lovely meal at hotel as meals like that go.

Can't wait till next one.

Thoroughly agree with your comments. The red sea cruise was definitely value for money. Entertainment on the Celebration was really first class and Keith Maynard was a brilliant cruise director- very high profile making sure everyone was happy. The Captain was very entertaining in the interview with Keith.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise. We are going on the cruise 11March 2010. What money did you take ???? £s euros or Egyption money

I took some E pounds although at a lot of the main tourist attractions I used euros and sterling as i'd some euros from a previous trip to use up when bartering for goods also as cheaper as their value is less to the pound than the E pound etc. If using E pounds don't forget to wash your hands as they're usually so old and dirty! Als do watch what you are given back as someone said on our cruise they'd not been given E pounds but a lower denomination note, i've known this happen before. If bartering for goods and they say 100 e pounds offer 20 e pounds or similar reductions for goods. have a great time.

Any!-we found in Sharm that every stall had a money conversion machine, and could weigh up your nationality before you opened your mouth.....£ coins are not so good, as they like paper money, but they take them willingly for tips, and euro coins. Some places will only take Egyptian- museums etc, so best to take some E pounds. Jo.
