I'm a brazilian habitual cruise user. I never been used a UK cruise line before and 5 months ago, I booked a cruise with Swan Hellenic at Minerva ship. I paid 707 GBP in april and the balance payment was schedulled to aug 31/2011. From the early september, I have been receiving many e-mails from the Swan Hellenic USA site, offering the same cabin type for less money than I paid months before. So, I made a complaint to Swan Hellenic and asked about the fare difference. They really ignore my request and promised to reply quickly about the complaint. I sent many e-mails and they didn't answer, unless to say they don't agree with my complaint. I'm very disappointed with the cruise company handling and decided to lose the already paid amount, and change my trip plans. I used 12 different cruise lines and never, never was treated with this total indefference. I sincerously had hoped more of a UK company. Sorry for my bad english!!!

Rosa, there is no need to apologise for your 'bad English'. It's very good indeed. I wonder how many of us could write the same review in Portuguese. Unfortunately very few cruise companies offer to refund the difference between what you pay for an early booking and what they sell their empty cabins for nearer the sailing date. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity are the only ones I know who make such an offer and even then there are so many 'get out' clauses that it doesn't apply to all bookings. I know this because it happened to me this year. It's very annoying that they couldn't/wouldn't give you an honest answer and I can only hope that you have better service from a different company on your next cruise.
