This is a small ship with just 352 passengers which made for a friendly house party atmosphere. The cabin was more spacious than I expected with plenty of storage space. There was a mini fridge and the TV set also had a facility to play DVDs which could be borrowed from the library at no extra cost and little extras like bath robe and binoculars.
There were very knowledgable lecturers on board and this is a special feature of the Spiirit cruises.
There was also an artist aboard giving very enjoyable water colour lessons to those who wanted.
A choice of two shore excursions each day was included in the price and a shuttle bus was laid on in some ports (Barcelona and Palma for example) if you just wanted to do your own thing. In other ports (e.g. Valletta and Minorca) you could just walk of the ship and you found yourself in the centre of things.
The entertainment was good and varied for such a small ship. We had singers, dancers, a magician as well as the resident classical trio and an excellent small orchestra a nd pianist. The Filipino crew put on an excellent sho and on some occasions local entertainer were brought aboard.
There were two restaurants - a formal dining room and a self service one. There was a very good choice of food in both and the standard of food and the service was very good.
The Captain and all the crew were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
I would certainly sail with this ship again.

Opinion: Agree Comment by Hume, Knutsford (22 Nov 07 11:34) about this REVIEW
We too have recently completed our second cruise on this excellent little ship and would agree to the ratings quoted, however would also say we found a small group of smokers in the yacht club lounge spoilt our enjoyment as we do in fact each have some respiratory problems and believe this should be addressed. The quality of service is superb, the staff thro'out are brilliant and it is indeed a pleasure to travel with them. We must bear in mind this ship as its name implies does what few others achieve visiting small ports away from the mass cruise market indeed as in our recent cruise a first ever cruise ship to visit El Hierro the smallest of the Canany Ils. We look forward to the next time we can discover some more interesting destinations away from the mass tourist spots.
Opinion: Disagree Comment by bratley, bingham (17 Nov 07 10:36) about this REVIEW
Whilst I would agree with most of the above, our trip was spoilt by heavy smoking in the yacht club lounge. It is the ship's custom to permit smoking in this enclosed public area and at times the air was foul. I would not recommend this ship to anyone with respiritory problems or a dislike of passive smoking until such time that Spirit of Adventure change their policy.
