This was a 3 week cruise from the Amazon to Buenos Aires. While we could not fault the running of the ship, or the staff and crew, we did not get to see what we thought we would!
There were several problems causing a 'knock-on' effect, starting with the problem of refuelling on a Sunday in Brazil. Had no-one told the captain that Brazilians do nokt work on Sundays? This delay meant that we did not see the islands of Fernando de Norhona - the main reason we had chosen this cruise! We also disliked the formal evenings when we understood that this ship was intended to be 'different' and NOT to be formal! My partner was 'ticked off' by a fellow passenger for not wearing a tie one evening! We HAD hoped for a younger clientele, but alas, not so!
Nevertheless, we loved the staff - nothing was too much trouble, and they were always smiling! The cruise director and staff were amazingly versatile, and worked tirelessly to keep everyone happy.
The smoking in the Yacht Club bar IS a problem however - not a plus point.
Quality of Food4
Plenty of good quality meat, but vegetables and salads seemed tired. Good desserts.
Entertainment3
Shore Excursions2
We spent a day in the port of Santos - it was difficult to get ashore as there were insufficient coaches.
Staff5
Cruise director - worked extremely hard.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities3
Excellent library - superb in every way.
Cabins4
Comfortable beds, good storage, super cabin staff. Tiny bathrooms, poor soundproofing - my next door neighbour's snoring kept me awake!

Opinion: Agree Comment by Roberts, Norwich (14 Feb 10 13:00) about this REVIEW
This was the most chaotic, disorganised, and disappointing cruise we have ever been on. Because we were behind schedule, we missed many of the planned excursions, and ended up doing city tours. I wouldn't cruise with them again even if it were free. Jennifer, Norwich.
