The decor of the ship on first sight was a little disappointing - the public rooms were not as good as some of the other ships that we have been on. The cabins ( they don't call them cabins - they refer to them as suites) were spacious with plenty of storage space and a full size bathroom which included both a bath and walk in shower.
What did set this ship apart from any other that we have been on was the service which was excellent. The staff could not do enough for us and we were greeted in a very personal way by name. On entering the buffet restaurant we were shown to a table and our food was carried by the staff from the buffet table to our table. The menus in the main restaurant were limited - I cannot eat shell fish and sometimes struggled to find something on the menu that I could eat. It was part way through the cruise that I discovered that there were standard items not displayed on the menu that could be ordered. Speaking to other passengers it was obvious that this had not been made clear.
The all inclusive wines and spirits was a first for us and was very good. The standard of complimentary wines was good and there was a good selection.
A plus point was that there was no-one taking our photograph all the time and there were no noisy games around the pool area.
The entertainment was not as good as we have experienced on other ships but we did enjoy the team trivia every day which was held by the Cruise Director.
The officers, including the Captain, were very visible throughout the ship.
Overall it was a good experience - we were made to feel very special by the staff and would definitely travel with Silversea again.
Quality of Food
A limited choice in the main restaurant - the deserts in particular were very good. The wines were of a good standard.
Entertainment
The singer Lorraine Brown was good although she didn't sing any thing modern.
Shore Excursions
We only went on one which was to Petra. It was enjoyable but rather expensive.
Staff
All the staff were excellent and cheerful. We were made to feel very welcome.
Children's Facilities

Onboard Activities
Not a wide range of activities but this was not important to us. We enjoyed the team trivia each day.
Cabins
The cabins were spacious, well furnished with good sized bathroom including a bath and walk-in shower. There was also a walk-in wardrobe.

We are looking forward to our second Silversea cruise on the Whisper in December. I do agree with the comments regarding the Menu in the Restaurant, but a small niggle considering the overall fabulousness of the Silversea experience. We have never been made to feel so special by a crew who truly know what real service is all about. We have vowed never to cruise on a large ship again!

My husband and I were on Silver Cloud last year. If you were happy to wait for a table for two you would get one and certainly when we booked to go into La Terrazza we sat on our own. Most nights we sat with some friends we had made or we joined a larger table. We had a lot of fun meeting very interesting people. It was a fabulous holiday - we enjoyed every minute of it . The food was wonderful with one exception - the fresh fruit didn't reflect the region in which we were sailing. I had expected some super Caribbean fruit to be available but what was served was obviously from the cold store.
