We looked forward to our first cruise. The staff were beyond wonderful. The food good. Cabin was tired, stained carpet rust round window. The organisation was very inefficient. We waited, herded like cattle for over three hours to disembark in Darwin, after rising early for our tour (which was cut short!) On second Silversea shore trip, I was injured, and not one member of staff/management asked how I was, despite seeing ship's Doctor and getting a large bill! (later rescinded on my strong complaint)There was little room to sunbathe if one did not want to sit in full sun. Undignified scrabbling for the few shady sunloungers! Barrier reef trip was horrendous. So crowded, taken to a pontoon, no room to change or snorkel. Finally our luggage was lost, and though we asked to be on the first departure, we were actually the very last! No more cruises!!

Please don't be put off by this. Try Seabourn, who we now cruise with. They appear to be more reasonably priced than Silversea but we cannot fault them!
