We have just completed a 10 day cruise from Montreal to New York aboard Silver Cloud. The level of service expected of Silversea was evident from the word go. The port authority had at the last minute berthed the ship at a different dock to the one published which challenged the local cab drivers, but the crew did their very best to make good of the situation and embarcation went smoothly. This was the first cruise on which Silversea had used butlers in every suite and the system seemd to work well. It will be interesting to see how this new innovation develops.
This was our first time on the Atlantic coast of North America and we were not disappointed. A couple of the smaller ports of call offered little except historical or naturalist tours there being very small, Gaspe and Sydney, two cases in mind. The larger ports, Halifax, NS; Bar Harbour, Maine and Boston, Mas. were excellent. The fall weather had not yet turned the New England coastal woodlands their well known colour spectrum but this was always going to be a case of good fortune.
The crew were as always excellent and almost from the first meeting knew us by name. The suite was comfortable and spacious, the food very good indeed and the whole ambience of the ship most favourable. The cruise director and her team produced some fine shows and the female, Lorraine Brown vocalist excellent.
All in all another fine Siversea experience, we will definately sail with again in the future.
PS. The level of service from Victoria Travel was again very efficient from the word go, thank you.
