Have just returned from the Danube Symphony Cruise. Budapest is just magical. Our ship the DA Vinci was first class. Food was excellent and well presented. With only 110 passengers you got friendly with so many of them. The temperatures ranged from the mid 30's to mid 40's - now all this rain here at home. We had cabin next to reception on promenade deck and could not hear much of the engine.
a wide variety of food - never had the same meal twice.
we went to a classical music concert in Vienna
The best was Budapest. This city is just magical. Bratislava to the castle but it was not open and it was 40 odd degrees. We just stood under the trees to shelter from the sun and as it was so hot we did not do the walking part of the tour and just went back to the ship.
Our waiter was named Chris. He was excellent and was very jokey with us.
this is not a cruise for children. It is more geared for the middle age and older
there was a gym but it was too hot for this.
Cabin was immaculate and the beds folded up for during the day.
