we recently took a Caribbean cruise with Seabourn Odyssey. We felt that, although expensive, we did get good value for our money. Gourmet food and fine wines were promised and that is exactly what we got. Champagne was served all day and every day - and anything else you wanted to drink.

The film evenings on deck were attended by no more than 6 people - so not popular. The entertainment also left something to be desired. The entertainers were talented, but I feel that they just had not gauged the age and interests of the clientele correctly most of the time. We did go to the show lounge a few times but actually left one show early, and after that didn't bother to go at all.
Information about the places we were visiting would have been good - port talks etc.

These are not complaints, but observations, and are of course, subjective.

The service from staff on board was second to none. Can't fault it.

The marina day simply didn't happen because there was quite a swell that day and I suspect that the lifeboats simply were not up to the job for landing all the equipment and passengers.

Our suite was wonderful, especially the bed and the pillows. The bathroom had his and hers twin sinks and a separate bath and shower - wonderful. The balcony was large enough to take about 6 people and wonderful for smokers.

The only real hiccup was the initial boarding when we were escorted not to our suite but to one of the lounges where they did serve champagne and canapes, but not to us, somehow we got missed out. We were virtually abandoned at this point - no luggage and no cabin to go to and no information seemed to be available. Eventually we took the initiative and wandered off to look around the ship and find our own cabin.

Overall though it was certainly the most luxurious ship we have sailed on but also the most expensive. We will sail with Seabourn again and would recommend it to anyone who values good food and fine wines.
Quality of Food4
We mainly ate in the Colonade Restaurant which is one of the outdoor venues and has themed evenings but always one or two dishes the same as the main restaurant. A little less formal than the main restaurant which was quite spectacular. We only ate at the Patio restaurant once since the menu seemed to be the same every night - steak, prawns, burgers etc.
Entertainment2
Best were the concert pianist and the magician.
Shore Excursionsn/a
We rarely take shore excursions arranged by the ship.
Staff5
Jenny who worked in the bars. All the staff were professional, and friendly.
