Our Seabourn Experience
A honeymoon that was quite simply perfect, more about this later. A ship that was intimate and luxurious a crew that were professional, courteous and actually wanted to be there all combined to make this a fantastic experience. We decided on a the seabourn Cruise as a compromise between a very very large cruise ship and a small 55ft sail boat charter !!! With only 300 passengers and over 100 crew the Legend certainly lived up to its name.
Firstly I struggled to find anything to complain about but probably the only and very slight negative was the descriptions of the fantastic food , which was exceptionally good but could have been more creative with more fresh / local seafood on offer (, as my wife and I are seafood addicts !!!)
From arrival at the port (after a very negative experience with British airways and there inability to communicate with their own staff which delayed our arrival by 24 hours) to the seamless disembarkation process everything went well.
The cabin was perfect with luxurious fittings, its own bath and shower and service standards that I have never experienced in over 30 years of international travel. .
The ship itself was small and intimate with enough room to provide un-crowded, privacy when wanted and whilst it was a fair age, it was in immaculate condition.
A small pool was a great place to cool of and there was never any shortage of towels, beds and extremely attentive waiters providing unlimited supplies of drinks!!
We fell in love with afternoon cocktails and snacking on the best French fries which became a daily ritual
On most days we went ashore for a couple of hours but we enjoyed the experience of being on board that we often returned to laze the day away and watch the world go by!!
Did I mention the crew?
What completed the experience and moved it from a good holiday to a fantastic experience was the Crew.
Everyone on board, and I mean everyone (from the captain to the Cleaners) was professional, courteous and happy to provide service that can only be described as perfect. It felt like they wanted to be there and that nothing was too much trouble for them.
The final experience of the crew serving Caviar and Champagne in the surf of our own private beach was a small slice of old fashioned decadence and is something we will remember for ever.
For me it was an introduction to cruising that will be hard to measure up to in the future.
The fact that we didn’t suffer from experiences of large and unexpected bills at the end of the cruise, that you didn’t have to have fixed times for food service and the fact that you didn’t have to tip every time you ordered something, added a very positive dimension for us.
Overall our feelings were that Seaborne with their attention to service , well trained staff who take great pride in their work is exactly what we wanted and they lived up to their brochures in every way.
Will we do it again, a definite yes!!!
Would I recommend the cruise line and the ship a definite yes?
One final compliment should go to Jo Cunningham at Cruise.co.uk who despite all of our indecision, changes and general inability to finalise a choice for our cruise worked with us to make sure we had a fantastic honeymoon.

| Great , we were worried aboutr no balcony but the cabin was great. Lare enough to relax in and small enough to be intimate.
