It was our first family cruise. When I first saw our stateroom my first impression was that it was like going to a caravan with the panelling and small bathroom. Our room was kept extremely clean and tidy by our attendant, twice a day and the beds that came down from the ceiling for the children was a good idea and were put away each day to save space. The animals made from the towels each night was enjoyable.

We paid a tips up front so we could dine whatever time we liked. The food was excellent and the staff efficient, however on the last day when we could not dock due to the weather, the windjammer restaurant was like a cattle market with no where to sit and very crowded.

The drinks were very expensive especially after a service charge and tips were added - no wonder a package for alcoholic drinks was not added. I would recommend getting the soda package for the children.

You also had to pay to get a shuttle bus from the ship to outside the dock in some locations as walking was not allowed. This should be mentioned in brochures and when booking. We did not book any tours with Royal Caribbean but did it ourselves. At Pompei we hired a taxi who took us straight into Pompei and returned a few hours later to collect us. He did not want paying until we returned. We went to Rome by train, the station is about 5 minutes walk from OUTSIDE the dock, you can get a shuttle bus from the Ship to outside the dock. The train took about 1 hour 10 minutes and was very comfortable. We also went to Pisa. We hired a taxi to take us to Lavorno and then we got the bus into Pisa - we got the local bus and it did take a long time - I would probably go with Royal Caribbean for this trip again.

There was plenty of activities to do for both adults and children.

All in all we did have a good holiday and felt looked after.
Quality of Food4
We ate in the Magic Flute and Windjammer on alternate nights.
Entertainment3
We did not get to see any comedian's, don't think there was any.
Shore Excursions2
You have to pay for some of the shuttle buses and we did our own thing.
Staff4
Nestor and his assistants, the statement room attendants. The rooms were very quick to be cleaned and tidied. Twice a day.
Children's Facilities3
Onboard Activities3
Cabins2
I thought they would be more plush and slightly bigger.
