As first time cruisers we were anxious as to what to expect once on board ship - we should not have worried. From the time we checked in till departure we had a fantastic time. The whole ship was kept spotlessly clean, or cabin was cleaned & tidied twice a day, the cabin attendants were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The same was to be said of the dining room staff, they always found time to have a chat and ask about our daily excursions, the bar staff too could not be faulted. The food in the main dining room was very good, we had a meal in Portofinos for our wedding anniversary and that was excellent well worth paying the extra for a special occassion. The entertainment was very good (except the mime artist), Ian on the piano in the Schooner Bar was also very good - could sing and play anything you requested. The mix of formal and informal nights worked really well - it nice to have a couple of evenings to dress up, and the rest of the time smart casual/casual. We did two organised excursions Florence & Aix en Provence both very well organised, though I'm not sure why we had to leave so early to go to Aix 7.15am as it was only 40mins away but worth a visit on Saturday as it was market day. The other destinations we did on our own reasonably easily and at a fraction of the cost. We had an inside cabin on deck 9 midship which we found plenty big enough for the very short time you spend in yur cabin as theres always so much to do. I would definately cruise with RCI again as we really had nothing we could find fault with, we met so many lovely people and can't wait to go again.
