Royal Caribbean Cruises - Voyager of the Seas
Voyager of the Seas
Giving its name to Royal Caribbean's Voyager class of cruise ships, the Voyager of the Seas was the first of its kind to be built and, at the time of its construction, was the largest cruise liner in operation.
Although the Voyager of the Seas is now eclipsed in size by both the Oasis and Freedom class ships, it's still a breathtaking feat of engineering and the perfect choice for anyone seeking a fun-filled family holiday. With significant experience in the cruise industry, Royal Caribbean International is a world-famous cruise line that has been providing fun-filled family holidays for more than 40 years.

The Voyager of the Seas has several ports of call around the globe and just some of the current voyage options include transatlantic crossings, Caribbean cruises that depart from New Orleans and Mediterranean holidays that leave from Barcelona or Venice.
The ship also offers trips between Dubai and Singapore, along the Suez Canal and regularly enters the South Pacific for cruises around Australia and New Zealand.

Food, cuisine and dining
There's no chance of ever going hungry on the Voyager of the Seas and the main dining room is the most popular place to grab a bite to eat. Set over three levels - which are each named after the operas Carmen, La Boheme and the Magic Flute - you can enjoy three meals a day in this gorgeous eatery.
Between meal times, if you're looking for a snack or a sweet treat, a favourite option is Sprinkles. This is a free soft-serve ice cream machine that's available 24 hours a day. Choose from your favourite toppings, or enjoy a creamy vanilla cone. You can also pick up a free pastry, yoghurt or coffee around the clock.
When the ship was dry docked in 2004, a Ben and Jerry's shop was also added - giving guests another ice cream option.
Of course, if you'd prefer something a little less sugary, there are plenty of alternative options, such as: • Promenade Cafe • Windjammer Cafe • Island Grille • Portofino • Chop's Grille • Johnny Rockets
On-board entertainment and activities
As the first cruise ship in the world to contain an ice skating rink and a rock-climbing wall, not to mention the unique Royal Promenade area, the Voyager of the Seas offers a host of activities and attractions for guests of any age.
There are a number of age-specific kids' clubs, including Aquanauts for three to five year olds, Explorers for children six to eight years of age and Voyagers for nine to 12 year olds. These feature various educational and entertaining activities to keep the little ones busy. Or why not spend some family time at the Paint and Clay arts and crafts centre or the Adventure Beach swimming pool and play area?
Optix is a zone exclusively for teenagers. It includes a club with various games and computers, as well as a soda bar and a dance floor. Elsewhere on the ship, teens will also enjoy the Challenger's Arcade and the Virtual Submarine - a virtual reality centre.
Of course, adults will also enjoy the various bars and nightclubs on offer, as well as the large Casino Royale.
Spas and fitness facilities
If you're looking to really get pampered during your voyage, why not book some time at the ShipShape health spa? Delight in a variety of rejuvenating treatments like massages, aromatherapy or acupuncture, provided by trained professionals in luxurious surroundings.
For those who prefer to get a beauty treatment, like a facial or manicure, those are also available - and there's a heat therapy zone, which includes saunas and steam rooms.
In addition, more energetic forms of stress reduction are also available: cardio and resistance machines will get your blood pumping, while swimming pools, a rollerblading track and a basketball court might also be enjoyable options.
Cabins
One of the most notable changes to the Voyager class of ships, compared to its predecessors, was that the room size was increased, even for the most budget-friendly staterooms.
This extra space will be especially appreciated by families travelling on the Voyager of the Seas, ensuring that parents and children have plenty of room to move around and store their belongings.
There are four Royal Family Suites on-board the Voyager of the Seas. These rooms measure around 574 square feet each and have two separate bedrooms, as well as a lounge area, a walk-in closet, a jacuzzi bathtub and a balcony with views out over the back of the ship.
Alternatively, the smaller staterooms offer a good amount of space. For families who want a bit more room to move around, there are several cabins with interconnected doors. Choose from apartments with views and private balconies or interior accommodation without views.
Whichever type of room you select, you'll enjoy a private bathroom and a television with interactive service and pay-per-view films. Many also feature a refrigerator and mini-bar.
