we stayed in san francisco for a night before the cruise. we meet a couple who had been at this hotel for three nights previous, they informed us that the hotel had put prices up 50% the day we arrived. W e checked this out with reception and found it to be true, not a good start. the next day we waited around for the bus to collect us and take us to the port, where we had a three hour wait to get through customs and get on board.
when we eventually got in the cabin we had to wait for four hours to get any luggage. (very long day) luckely ther was a buffet meal all day.
when on board you become a captive audiance. We are not tight people and always enjoy our hollidays spending on any thing we want, but when you go to the bar for a drink you dont want to be stung with prices-IE a can of fosters and a glass of wine £11.00 plus 15% gratuity EVERY TIME YOU HAVE A DRINK.
Food was good for the two week cruise.
Staff were very helpfull and polite.
the places we visited were very much the same, gold, pearls, diamonds etc.
The visit to a glacier was spectacular, colours were out of this world.
The wild life was unforgetable ,eagles, dolfins, whales, otters, sea lions, brown bears and lots more.
Entertainment on the ship was ok
the weather was brill freezing in the morning 6AM 20/25 c in the afternoon.
all in all the length of the cruise was a bit to long 10 days would have been enough.
The rest of the time could have been spent in vancover very nice place.
