Placed a review mid June after a 2nd June sailing. ITS NOT BEEN PUBLIHED even though I have received my cruise review book!! Could it be because I slated the embarkation and dis-embarkation procedure? or could it be because although I rated the ship herself and the fact that our party (6) were all upgraded from a promenade room to a balcony suite as fabulous, my fellow European passengers left a lot to be desired. Strange eh???????

Why don't you rewrite it! I'd love to read your dis embarkation problems as I was on the preceding cruise to yours. Our dis embarkation was 'a walk in the park' as it as always been on every RCI ship I've been on. We hung back till the very last & we were still off by 0915 hrs.

I had thought of that but its getting around to it. Basically - EMBARKATION - All OK until we were quayside. We had printed our seapasses like good people and then queued for 2 1/2 hours. Anyway as I have said, we were upgraded to fab rooms so that pain was soon forgotten. DIS-EMBARKATION - our bags were outside by midnight as ordered. We were flying back to London at 3pm. We were ordered (practically) off the ship by 9:30am. There was a family flying back to Glasgow at 9pm ish that night. They also had to be off by 9:30am. On other cruises, we have not had sight of our bags from the night before until we lifted them off the carousel in our home airport. Oh No, not RCI. We take them off a carousel quayside, pull them outside, put them on a van (which follows the coach to the airport) we pull them into the airport. Lots of we there don't the think and not a lot of they. We then had to loiter until our flight. FELLOW EUROPEAN PASSENGERS - why are they so rude? Pushing, ignoring polite excuse me, pushing in as they obviously are way too special to stand in a queue to pay for their items, eating like pigs with no obvious thought of others around them. I could go on but why bother. And they say us Brits are pigs. I think not. I have forgotten more manners than they know. Anyway, fab ship, fab company, fab hol.

all passengers disembarking were given infromation to to when they had to be off the ship the day before with their luggage tags etc. Disembarkation started at approx. 06:30 and the ship was clear by 09:30. Everyone that we spoke to (early and late flights) had to be off by 09:30. If you look at RCI excursions you can book a trip for the day you go home for a tour of barcelona and then they will take you to the airport at the end of the tour. This is the only way you are not dumped at the airport.

Yes I have experienced some of your grief with Our European Union Colleagues, but if I can add. We did Navigator back 2 back 4/5 nighter ending 2nd June. Most lines 'get you off' by 0930 am latest, calling you by name if your still on board. We were staying on, they announced re boarding at 1100 am, so, little time to clean, reload computers with new intake & ready ship before the next lot arrive. In summary we always arrange our own flights & transfers, avoiding hundreds of people arriving the same time for embarkation, were also blessed with priority boarding (Diamond), & as it happened our only option for a homeward flight into our local airport was also late, 2200 hrs, so we booked a 'Day Room' in a Barcelona hotel to store luggage, wash & brush up, etc. As for the 'Europeans', you should try an Italian line, much used by the German holiday makers. Thank God for R.J. Mitchell who designed the Spitfire.
