Disabled and Wheelchair bound on cruise ships, Most cruises and very good, offering help without asking,such as, help pushing me around to and from the ship,to our cabin.always help in the restaurant, need to 3/4 pillow,no problem.Just before Christmas, I took a cruise on my own,flying from London To Orlando,The Disney company could not do enough for me, Its very hard and tiring when you are on your own.The other thing I would like to tell you,was, The second part was that I flew from Orlando to Miami,to join The Liberty of the seas. I arrived at the airport the ships crew were very good put me on a bus to the ship,that's when it went wrong. and The agent ask me to wait in the coach station and someone from the ship, to take me through the booking in desk, I was left for near on 40 minutes, no one came, I had no choice but do it on my own,with two bags on my lap.It was very hard to push myself, and had to do it in two stages,. I checked in I told her that I had travelled by my self,and said I was very brave to do it, I asked if I could have someone to take me on the ship,as I was exhausted,she told me someone from the ship would be around the corner, this was not true,had no intention arrange it there again I had to do it my self, also find my own cabin.The cabin steward was very good, he help me when he saw me struggling in the corridor.I needed a long rest,and used the selfservice I was having problem getting my food once again nobody came to help me,I even passed two waiter talking to each other.I did have words with the head waiter, and had no problems. for the rest of the cruise.I wrote 2 letters to company and did not receive a reply,I did not ask for any compensation, all I wanted that they recognized the problem and put it right for other pepole like me.As regards the ship it was very good, food, entertainment,ice rink dancer where elcellentAs suitability for me I could not use a lot of the things, but it was lovely to watch others enjoying themselves.Disabled cabin was about 1/2 bigger than a normal cabin, and had a wet bathroom,and could take the wheelchair in there.
