It was a 4 night Isles of South East Asia and a 8 night Indonesia & Bali Cruise.I was travelling with 2 friends and we had an inside cabin on deck7,which was well appointed with adequate storage space. As we were on 2 cruises back to back we had arranged to keep the same cabin,a must when doing this, and on the cruise change overday,it was efficently taken care of to ensure we were not inconvenienced on that day..On the first cruise the majority of the passengers were of Chinese and Indian origin, very few Europeans. On the second cruise it changed to Europeans/Australians and Chinese origins. We used the Windjammer Cafe on deck 9 for breakfast and lunch which was a buffet. It had a number of separate food stations to make your choices from,so there was no queuing, and you had the option of eating inside or outside. It always had a great choice of food with selections to suit the passengers of various nationalities. It also had excellant bar style sitting areas with bar type stools to suit single guests,a good addition. In the evening we were on first/main sitting for dinner in the Romeo and Juliet restaurant,we felt the drinks service was poor and not attentive,we also felt the food was not spectacular fairly large portions with the vegetables not fully cooked, which did not suit our style/taste,it seemed to lack finess. However the waiter and assistant waiter service was superb and very friendly.Drinks were expensive, however they did have special drinks packages which we in fact availed of which helped to keep the overall cost of drinks down. The mix of cultures made the cruise more interesting,no towels on sunbeds for a start, the karoke monopolised by the Chinese with some excellant vocals. The tours we felt were very expensive,in relation to the ports called and no particular tours or shuttle bus to beaches, which was disappointing, especialy as the second cruise was to famous beach areas. The ship has an excellant entertainment theatre, with comfortable seating with drinks holders on the arm rests,no pillars to restrict viewing, with very good shows. The ship was excellant with 2 pools one inside and one outside,a great steamroom and sauna in the Spa,lots of places to sit, relax and enjoy outside and inside.Overall a good ship and 2 enjoyable cruises, with a cosmopolitan mix of passengers,a great change to have no moaners and complainers as one seems to get on cruise emanating from the UK!!,which is in fact my home.
