As the title says, this was the cruise that should have been taken in October 2008, our 40th Wedding Anniversary, but due to my husbands heart attack Christmas Day 2007 this had to be delayed. We travelled on the 1st June from Manchester Airport to Rome by Jet 2.com!! Check in fine even a representative from Royal Caribbean there to help, plane tired but arrived ok in a rainstorm! Check in at port ran very smoothly as we had checked in on line. Although the ship was same tonnage as our previous cruise 70,000 ton approx, she looked smaller, but after all the previous reviews was quite inpressed with the cleanliness and decor. We had an inside cabin on deck 7, cabin 7041 which was kept spotlessly clean by our stateroom attendant Onelio( who also did amazing things with towels on an evening)who ensured everything was ok. The only down side was that next door had two pullman beds for children and that is when you find out how thin the walls are at 2am!!! We had an amazing time and only had a few gripes. The price of drinks was ridiculous, and if any one says you shouldn't go on a cruise if you can't afford it, I disagree. We felt that £5 for a can of Boddingtons, can of John Smiths, or bottle of Strongbow was really over the top. $20 for shuttle bus in Corfu bit steep. The staff were all great especially Emelia and Lee in the restaurant, Onelio our stateroom attendant and Guamin in the Vicking Lounge. The food was good, but the meat was tough on a couple of occassions. The entertainment was really good, especially Dougie Brown, the Elton John look(and sound)alike and the magician. All in all the staff ensured we had a great holiday and everything was always clean and tidy. Only did one excursion Landmarks of Alexandria, although wouldn't have missed it, will never go there again. They say Cairo is worse, but nothing prepared us for the state of the city, litter, derelict buildings and poverty.(If any one goes on that trip water and pop are provided free) Loved our time on the ship and all the ports of call were great. Look forward to our next cruise!!!

| Quality of Food | |
| Mostly had breakfast and lunch in Windjammer, plenty of choice, and no problems. Evening meal in Romeo and Juliet, think they could do with changing their butcher!! | | Entertainment | |
| We only saw 4 of the shows and they were all excellent. As most of passengers seemed to be American didn't like the quizzes on American football and TV programmes!! | | Shore Excursions | |
| Only did 1 excursion, Landmarks of Alexandria. Very well organised, and guide very informative. | | Staff | |
| Onelio, Stateroom attendant, ensured we had everything we needed, and did some great animals with towels. Emelia and Lee in Romeo and Juliet, always very attentive and Lee made sure I had my Mint tea. Guamin in the Vicking Lounge, gave excellent service | | Children's Facilities | n/a |
