Brilliance of the Seas

Overview: This ship was constructed for longer itineraries, with more space and comfortable public areas, larger cabins and more dining options. For the more sporting, youthful passengers, there is activity galore – including a 30-ft (9-m) rock-climbing wall with five separate climbing tracks.

Cruise Ship:
Brilliance of the Seas

Reviewed By: on
Just returned from RCI cruise Dubai/UAE. I have to say the ways of earning extra revenue are getting more each time we cruise. Things that were once free or included are now being charged for. Example tea or coffee after dinner which used to be included is now charged for. Photographs on board are now very expensive. A tour of the galley/bridge which used to be free is also charged for. Drinks prices gone up and still the 15% added automatically for tips.
Shows very poor compared to P&O.
Where will it all end?
Staff on board, very courteous and worked hard.

Times cruised before: 6-10
Sailed: March, 2012
Age: 65+
Cabin: Balcony
Occasion: Annual/regular holiday

Quality of Food
My time dining. better at beginning of week than end but no complaints, reasonable choices. Steak was superb and plentiful.

Very poor most nights. Went every night. The best was Elton John tribute, excellent.

Shore Excursions

Stateroom attendant and person who organised seating at My Time Dining

Children's Facilities

Onboard Activities
Only went to jewellery/bead threading which I found good

No Complaints with cabin, good quality towels/sheets

Hi We have just come from the same cruise and did not pay for tea/coffee after our meal, we have never paid for ordinary tea/coffee on any RCI ship.

We usually cruise with RCI, and were very recently on the Brilliance in Dubai. We were not charged for coffee (at the dinner table), and have never been in the past. I presume you were still at the dinner table? How did this come about - did they serve it to you and then ask for your Seapass card, or, did you ask for speciality coffee?
