Cruise Ship: Seven Seas Navigator Sailed: February, 2010
Destination: Caribbean Age: 46-55
Cabin: Balcony Occasion: Annual/regular holiday
The food, as always with Regent, was excellent. This was our third cruise with Regent having sailed once before on Navigator and once on Voyager. We prefer smaller ships but this time found Navigator a bit too quiet for us as the average age was well over 70 and most passengers retired early in the evening. The refurbishment in the public rooms is apparent but our stateroom could have done with updating. We had a balcony on deck 6. The basin in the batghroom was cracked and the shower cubicle was dark with mould onn the seals. On arrival in our cabin we were dissapointed witht he cleanliness. We found an old lipstick and some loose tablets in the dressing table drawer ans something sticky in the bedside drawer. Not good on a six star ship. When we pointed it out to the stewardess she said she had been very busy so maybe Regent are cutting down on staff and not allowing sufficent time for through cleaning. We did have a plentiful supply of clean towels throughout our cruise and nice toiletries. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows.
We missed 3 ports of call due to rough seas which obviously is beyond the control of Regent but we were dissapointed that the horse riding trip in Dominican Republic was cancelled due to lack of guests wanting to participate. It is no good Regent having complimentary excursions if they are not going to run. We would rather have paid for it and been sure to go. We did horse ride in Grand Turk and it was excellent. We rode the horses in the sea and along the beach, very professional and well organised.

No complaints at all about the food and drinks. We ate in Compass Rose and one evening in Prime 7. The staff in both were extremely friendly and attentive.

The evening entertainment was spoiled for us by the cold temperature in all the public rooms, especially the theatre. It really was too cold for us to sit in there. We went away to avoid the cold weather not to be frozen by the air conditioning blasting out.

Sunbathing on deck was not pleasant one day due to the black smoke billowing from the funnel. It left us covered in soot.

Daytime activities we quite good. We enjoyed the dance lessons and daily quiz with afternoon tea.

We did enjoy parts of the cruise but not as much as previous times and we will try another cruise line next time.
Quality of Food5
Plenty of fish. Excellent steak. All food well presented both in Compass Rose and Prime 7.
Entertainmentn/a
Didnt stay long enough in the theatre to watch the shows as it was far too cold.
Shore Excursions4
Best was horse riding in the sea in Grand Turk and Bacardi factory in Puerto Rico.
Staff4
I Made in Navigator lounge always greeted us with a warm welcome and made excellent cocktails.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities3
Ok for the size of the ship.
Cabins2
After the initial problem with the cleanliness of the drawers it was ok. A good size cabin with plenty of hanging space in the walk-in wardrobe. Mini bar was always well stocked although we hardly used it. Fresh flowers and a welcome bottle of champagne were a nice touch. The balcony was quite small and the furniture on the balcony basic.
