Hi
Thanks for your earlier reply.
We are going on this trip next week! Can you tell me, did you have to pay an entry fee in Chile? Did you fly from Manchester to Heathrow and on, if so how did that go?
Chris

Did not pay an entry fee in Chile. Flew from Manchester to Heathrow. Delayed due to the snow before Christmas. Plane was deiced at heathrow so an hour late leaving. At Sao Paulo airport we went around in circles before finding departure area for Santiago. It was at ground level. Very warm in this area ( take a t shirt and change would be my tip ) Our passports were taken from us and then returned with our boarding passes. a bit chaotic. Have a good holiday.

Thansk for the info. We are taking this cruise on Feb 14th. Can you please tell me if you use local currency in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. We are American and I don't know if we need to convert US$ to local currencies.
Thanks much....glad you had a great time.

Used Chilean pesos, were told to take US dollars for Argentina, although accepted American dollars there was a constant need for conversion on shopkeepers part, so felt Argentinian pesos would have been better. Did not spend on Uruguayan day trip.

I'm going on this cruise on 28th feb . BA-Santiago. Can you tell me if you suffered from any really rough seas. Think that's the only thing I'm worried about really. And what about the weather in the South Atlantic? I've booked the NCl excursion Journey into Patagonia at Puerto Chacabuco. Is that the one you were disappointed with or did you do another one there? It is in fact the only NCL excursion I have booked, all the others I've organised privately with other cruisers. They cost a fraction of NCL's prices! Great to know that this cruise is worth all the money!

Rough seas for one afternoon around the Straights of Magellan, rode it out in four hours. Fortunately very calm as we were rounding Cape horn. Moderate seas on route to Falklands, infact a sunny morning for our land tour and it was not cold. Took waterproof jacket and wore layers .
Our tour at Chacabuco was called Coyhaique & Simpson Valley a five and a half hour tour.
Have a great time.

About £3, 600.00 per person. Have noticed that it is not doing this route December 2010.

Hi
Thanks for that. Can I just ask, is it true that the Sun no longer has kettles in the rooms?

We did not have a kettle but spoke to a lady at the end of the cruise who had requested one and had it a few days later.
