On arrival at Dover cruise terminal 2, our luggage was speedily taken from us. Ready to be loaded on to the Balmoral. Check in did not take long, being a "First time cruiser", we had priority embarkation. We were one of the early groups to be called. Once on board the friendly staff gave us directions to the location of our cabin. We were soon on deck 9 and in our balcony cabin. Our luggage arrived quickly and soon we were settled in for our holiday cruise. This was our 40th w.a. and the package of suprises during our cruise, more than exceededour expectations. The Spey restaurant was our location for our evening meal. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was lovely, portions were adiquate. Breakfast could be taken in any restaurant/cafe or a continental b/f could be delivered to the cabin. The food could be chosen from a menu or selected from self service (plenty of choice). Entertainment was very goog, especially the staff contribution! On shore tours well organised. Daily news letters were left in cabins in the evening for the next days activities and other information. The passenger capacity was such, that we never felt over crowded. Dis- embarkation was organised well. On leaving the Balmoral for our journey home, we were wishing someone would call us back and say we had another week! We hasten to add -- no one called us back , so we are going cruising again May 2010 on the Balmoral. Mr/Mrs Metcalfe York YO30 6DQ cabin 9053

Braemar, Black Watch and Boudicca are nice too - a fraction smaller as well.
