As first time cruisers we were not sure what to expect, having looked at mixed reviews for this ship, but any worries we had were unfounded and we had a lovely time. We were very pleasantly surprised at the size of our cabin which more than met our needs for the amount of space and facilities provided. It was first class in terms of how clean and comfortable it was, shower was great and the steward very pleasant and accommodating, clean towels twice a day. I know we have nothing to compare it with, but we were more than satisfied with all that we had in terms of service and quality of holiday. Children were on board and by and large were well behaved, the ship is large and plenty of space available to find a quiet spot if required. Entertainment was good and of a high standard, food was also very good and a good choice available, something for everyones tastebuds. The waiting staff we found were always polite and courteous, attentive, nothing too much trouble, we were freedom dining and found it worked very well for us. When we requested a table by the window and sea view we were given a pager and waited a short time for one to become available, then quickly seated. We did not go on any pre-planned shore excursions which we thought were abit expensive so we did our own thing and kept to our own leisurely time table and did not feel hurried. Free shuttle buses were provided at most ports where walking was involved which proved a great asset. To conclude this holiday for us was one to savour and remember and we hope to repeat it in the very near future back on the Ventura or possibly another P&O ship just to compare, well done P&O. One last thing, use of hand cleaning gel was used extensively throughout the ship which was very reassuring, and most people adhered to the common sense practice of using it.
