this REVIEW
The food was terrible, entertainment a joke and most staff wouldn"t give you the time of day. The ship itself is lovely but maybe a little too big. Cabins were very clean, spacious and comfortable but the rest of the cruise was a big let down. Went to the midnight buffet once and the food was inedible, in fact it was so bad the restaurant manager came over to apologise to us. Hot dogs with soggy onions, dried up sausages, hard rolls and the desserts in the Waterside/Beach House OOOh my god - jelly with fruit in, cold custard with squirty cream and the same boring cakes day after day. How this food is 4/5 star is beyond me. We cruised with Thomson last year and it was 100% better in every aspect, apart from the glitz of the ship. Can't believe I sailed at the same time on the same ship as the above review?? Yes, the ports of call were lovely, weather beautiful - ship a big let down. I will never travel on the Ventura again.

Quote " I will never travel on the Ventura again." That's probably a bonus for Ventura's future passengers & crew

Is there any need to be such a rude, nasty person with your uncalled for remark??? I thought everyone was entitled to leave a remark here regarding their cruise experiences without someone like you getting personal!! These sites are to help future passengers make up their own minds and the review I gave was an honest critic of my (and 3 others in my party) experience. I have also posted the same review on other sites and had a lot of comments agreeing with me. Also, past passengers I have spoken to had the same kind of problems. People like you who can't help their vicious tongue, spoil these sites so if you can't control yourself, keep your your mouth shut!!!!

I'd say it's the 4 in and inside cabin travelling as cheaply as possible and eating at every opportunity no doubt dining at 6.30 then going to the "midnight Buffet" Oh & just incase you hadn't noticed midnight is the end off the day and all the baking on Ventura is done over night, so the bread is past it's best at midnight, but then you probably would expect fresh to go with your "HOT DOG" . Whilst the food in the main dining rooms isn't as good as say 5 years ago on other P&O ships, it's still good value for money and the food served in the specialist restaurants as In Whites & East is superb. But I suspect you didn't eat in those two as god forbid you'd have to spend some money. How was the water with dinner any problems with that? Do us all a favour & stick with Thomson where you all pay 2 bob!

In answer to your rather sarcastic comments, we did actually have a cabin with a balcony - and yes, a cabin per couple! are you shocked?? We did not eat at 6.30, but 8.30 and if you had read my comment correctly, you would have noted that what I actually said was "we went to the midnight buffet ONCE' and only then because 1 of our party had not eaten at evening meal. What I also said was that hot dogs was all that was there - not that I actually had one! The food in The White Room (not Whites) as you referred to, was fantastic on BOTH occasions - as was the bottle of champage and the bottle of chablis. We did not eat in East as I personally do not favour that cuisine, but I believe it was also very good and infact rather cheaper than The White Room! We ate at The Ramblas, again twice and again very good. So I hope i"ve answered a few of your assumptions and managed to wipe that smug grin off your obnoxious mug! Just because I gave an honest critic and said that the food, service and entertainment on Thomson was better does that make me a lesser person than you?? I think not!! Maybe you should try Thomson or is it too beneath you? Just doesn't have the same ring to it as P O when you brag to people does it? Oh and yes, the water was good thanks!!

Your words 1st comment Quote" The food was terrible" now all of a sudden the food in Whites "was fantastic" & Ramblas "very good" and now "I believe it was very good" in East, if you'd have included that in your original comments instead of giving the impression that all the food on the ship was crap, then I would not of felt the need to also comment, if your going make comments tell the whole story, and If everything was great at Whites, East & Ramblas why are you "never travelling on Ventura again"? Must be down to the stale bread roll with your "HOT DOG" your a tough guy to please!
Anyway enjoy Thomsons next year were going Celebrity, don't think they do "HOT DOGS" so not for you then!

I'm not actually a guy!! My comment about the food was regarding the food actually served in the main restaurants i.e saffron, waterside, beach house etc - not the food which isn"t inclusive. You seem to have a massive fascination with hot dogs - but again, I see you didn"t read my comment properly. I did not, repeat, not have a hot dog, merely commented that was all that was there!! Why do you take critisism of a ship so personal? I am fussy and I am hard to please that is why this ship fell below my and lots of others expectations, everyone is different and not all are going to be so easily pleased - is that so bad?

Cannot believle the food was better. No many people who have sailed with Thomson and admit just like a 4 star hotel in Spain .If Iwas to agree i would say not very welcoming UUGH.

would never argue with your review but i can speak for a party of 11 people who were so sad to return home.Travelled on Aurora and Oceana previous and was so happy with both ships.I vote P&0 first class
A family member sailed with thomson berore she sailed with P& O and found the food just as good as a spanish hotel. In my eyes uugh. She is a very fussy lady and i would believe her review. L
