Just returned home today after cruising the Norweigian Fjords. We travelled with P&O on Ventura and all in all the experience was delightful. Embarkation at Southampton was excellent, within fifteen minutes of leaving my car with the valet parkers (CPS) we were on the ship in our cabin. After a look around this huge ship we booked a meal in the East Restaurant, on the first night the price was subsidised to £10 per person, normally it would cost £20 per person the food was Pan Asian type food, the quality, quantity and service was excellent. The cabin was a good size for the two of us with plenty of hanging space and shelves for your clothes. The bathroom had a W.C. Shower and Vanity Unit style basin, If you are a larger type person with ample proportions, you would struggle in the shower and be very uncomfortable on the W.C. The Bay Tree Restaurant was a lovely sized dining area with fantastic service given from the waiters but the quality of food was quite tasteless and very bland, presentation was excellent but no taste, - I think this is down to not using salt in the cooking.
The shows were alright with a selection of singers, comedians and cabarets, there was also two tribute acts, Tom Jones and Elton John, each act lasted 45 mins and was adequate to kill some time before retiring to bed.

We went on two excursions and had a great time on each of these. The first one - The Troll wall is recomended and we also went on a trip to the Briksdale Glacier - again I would recommend this. The Entertainments Team worked hard during the day to keep passengers entertained. There were talks and films and various demonstrations. The Sailaways were great fun.

All in all we would rate the ship 8 out of 10.

Hi. Thank you for your very interesting review. I note that you mentioned about there being little salt in the food. As a "salt addict" could you tell me whether the salt on the table was Low Salt or normal salt. I know it is very trivial but I cannot abide the taste of Low Salt! With Thanks Julia.

Hi Julia, No its not trivial, i believe good food should have salt added but in the preparation of the dish with additional salt added for personel tastes. The salt on the table was in my opinion normal table salt Regards, Floyd
