Although we showed a printed copy of our on line check in for Concierge Class, Staff still directed us to the main queue. This did not happen to other friends boarding about the same time. However the procedure was all very simple. Our cabin was exceptionally good and more spacious than we have been accustomed too. After a few days we decided that the hors d'oeuvres were not worth the extra for Concierge Class. Food was plentiful and very varied and constantly available. The evening meal did take a long time, we were rarely out of the dining room in under 2.1/4 hours For an American Ship my expectations for the evening show was high. I have to say they were the worst I had ever seen and I gave up after 3.

We enjoyed the Ports of call but we were not very adventurous. The train to Rostock from Warnemunde required no effort and compared to prices in U,K. was cheap. The main reason for the cruise - and highlight - was to be St. Petersburg, so 6 of us had arranged a 2 day private tour with Red October so had our own guide and driver. This was definitely one of our better decisions. We were met off the ship both days at 7.30 a.m. and returned by 5.30 p.m. Naturally there were a few small queues at some venues but nothing compared to the ones we could see from windows when we were inside the different buildings. Everything about St. Petersburg was magnificant. We were there on a Saturday but our guide took us to a Bank where we were able to change $20 for coffee and a sandwich lunch. The second day lunch was included, however, I won't go into that as I would definitely be able to remain on a diet if I lived there.

My one "moan" is regarding information from the Ships regarding essential information. They do the same cruise approximately every 14 days, and this applies everywhere, but when the literature states dollars not accepted you invariably find they are, then when you are not prepared because it has been stated eurors and dollars are accepted they are not.

Defintely an enjoyable cruise.
