My Husband and I have just returned from our first Cruise to Scandinavia and Russia. I had searched on the internet for Cruise Reviews before we went for any piece of info that might be useful. I cannot give enough praise to the hardworking polite crew/staff who really made this a very pleasant cruise. My only complaint was the arrogant and rude way some passengers spoke to them..
On reflection we feel we have learnt a lot about cruising. We would not pre book any shore excursions unless there was something we particularly wanted to see. The hop on/hop off buses and the shuttle buses are very good for getting you into Town and to see the places of interest.I would have preferred to only spend one day in St Petersburg not two and more time in any of the other ports. Norway and Sweden were beautiful and the sail in and out was breathtaking. The towns of Copenhagen ,Warmunde and Tallin were very picturesque and we would have liked a bit more time at them.
We did not go to the San Marco Dining Room every night as we wanted to sit on our balcony for the sail way from the ports which as around the time we would have to dine so it was more convienient to go to the 10th deck to the Seaside Grill and Buffet to eat .
All our guides on the shore excursions were excellent especially the one in Stockholm at the Royal palace and walk around the old town.
The entertainment was selective.. A concert pianist Brooks Andreus was very good and informative and funny with it. The Celebrity singers and dancers were good at the showtunes performance, The Irish comedian Billy Boyle was very funny, but the Scottish comedian was poor. The brightest star was Perry Grant in Michaels Club, he was fantastic...very funny and a very good voice. We went back several times to see/hear him. He had a spot at the Celebrity Theatre which was good , but he is definitely better in the intimate atmosphere of Michaels Club.
We were told there were over 56 Nationalities on board....There was a high contigent of Japanese Families with their children...no problem here..all very well behaved and polite. The adult Aussies were the worst for manners!!!
All in all we had a lovely time on the Constellation and will certainly sail with Celebrity again.

BEWARE. Check your on board account. We chose the option that your card issuer converts your cost from $ TO £ (PROVEN BETTER RATE OF EXCHANGE) and not Celebrity. Yes you've guessed it. Celebrity ignored my request. Card statement just arrived. Fight now starts. Thery squeeze every penny (dollar) on board and then try even more!!! Not happy.

We love Celebrity it does have that touch better than some of the others and competes very well against Cunard with prices not so high but you can get cheaper with Royal Caribbean; Carnival and NCL to name a few. We have been on Millennium and Infinity two sister ships to the Constellation, but what we like best is the food and the staff. I like the dinner menu with the fixed course on the left page as I love shrimps and salmon and they are there every night but although we are difficult to please eaters we always found somethings on the main dinner menu we liked which was not always the case with other cruise ships we have been on...Bill
