Our third cruise was with Oceania Cruises in the Eastern Med (Istanbul to Athens). Having travelled from Southampton on both our previous cruises, this was a first time fly/cruise and a first time with an American Cruise line.
We were attracted by the fact that the ship was smaller, the destinations exciting and the reviews were glowing - we were not disappointed on any count.
Our flight arrangements were excellent, the ship beautiful, the staff magnificent (best service we have received from any cruise line) and the locations great. We particularly liked the open seating and choice of 4 restaurants (with no surcharges).
Entertainment was good. The atmosphere was very friendly and we made many friends on the trip.
Only downsides were - Excursions were expensive (we only went on 2) , internet charges silly (but they always seem to be) and cabin was slightly smaller than we would have liked (having said that, the bed was the best we have slept in!).
Overall an excellent holiday and I would definitely recommend this ship, crew and cruise line.
Quality of Food5
we ate in all 4 restaurants. Toscana (Italian) was our favourite
Entertainment3
Not the variety you would get with a very large ship, but we enjoyed the comedian and ship's own signers.
Shore Excursions3
Trip to Ephesus was excellent. Athens trip only satisfactory
Staff5
All of them - fantastic commitment
