Just returned from Med Renaissance on the Destiny followed by a week in Alcudia. First time on the Destiny and we were very impressed, couldn't find fault anywhere. The new cruise director Paul Fisher had just taken over and what a start. The shows were all of the highest standard, as good as some west end shows I've seen. We were on second sitting for dinner in the seven seas which meant it was sometimes more difficult to find a great seat for the shows but we always managed as all of the seats were ok. The quality of the food was excellent wherever you ate and we found the fixed dining very social, in fact our new-found friends from Ireland who shared our table also joined us for the shows afterwards. All of the staff, without exception, were warm & friendly and very helpful.
We had booked a de-luxe cabin on deck 7 and found it very comfortable with more than enough storage and a good-sized bathroom. The safe was also free, you just used your pre-registered credit card to swipe it to open it.
We did a couple of the Thomson excursions, Florence & Pisa & The Dali museum at Figeuras. Expensive but good, the Tower of Pisa is breathtaking and the half day at the Dali museum was not enough. We did Rome on our own, managing to fit in the Sistine Chapel, Colisseum and the Trevi Fountain. The trains and Metro are pretty easy to use but be aware Rome Termini station is big and it takes quite a time to get from one end to the other. We had been to Villefranche before and the day we were there the trains were on strike so we went to Villa Ephrusse on the bus. This is a lovely stately home with magnificent gardens and well worth the entrance fee. And only 1 euro on the bus.
We bought the all inclusive package and found it good value, my wife always enjoyed the cocktail of the day and was surprised at the range of cocktails included in the drinks package.
The entertainment team work very hard and ther's always someting to do, if you wanted to. If you just wanted to sunbathe there was always a spare sunlounger to be had, even on at-sea days, and this was when the ship was full.
All in all a fantastic experience, first time on Destiny, but not the last.

| No complaints about the cabin, surpassed my expectations. Some people on Deck 3 compained about the noise from the engines and you could feel the vibration on deck 5 when we were in the lounge there but felt or heard nothing in our cabin. | | Overall Rating | |
