The whole cruise from start to finish was truly fantastic. We particularly chose a smaller ship, with both formal and informal dining arrangements, and we weren't disappointed.
Our inside cabin was more spacious than previous cruises and was spotlessly cleaned and tidied, in fact the entire ship was constantly being cleaned and polished. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We preferred the more informal dining and so ate most of our meals in and around the Marco Polo Bistro.
The quality of entertainment was second to none, we particularly enjoyed the cabarets in the Marco Polo lounge, and the tours were, on the whole, very good. We were somewhat disappointed with the Dublin tour guide as we felt she wasn't suitable for the job, and although we did feel that tours were a bit pricey, overall we enjoyed them.
There was a good choice of on board activities, my favourite being stretch and relax, and meditation classes. I was also impressed with the fully equipped gym, sauna and steam room, and the three jacuzzis out on the top deck.
The Marco Polo is in every sense of the word a classic cruise ship and the staff and crew complimented this. They were extremely helpful and efficient.
