First time with Costa and I have got to say most enjoyable, great ship, good cabins, very colourful, entertainment could have been better and excursions cheaper but overall a nice relaxing cruise with great dining companions.
My two pet dislikes on cruises are drunks and uncontrolled kids, on this cruise we had few kids and they were well behaved and as for drunks, well I didn't see one. There could be an explanation for this, not in the Med or Caribbean, mostly European but not so many British, what I mean is that British over 40 years of age don't get wild with drink, most can drink sensibly but the younger ones (and the younger the worse they seem to be) are very bad at handling drink, of course this does not apply to all young people, my wife and I have been cruising since 1997 and really enjoy it, like most cruisers but maybe because of the present economic situation things seem to be changing, I remember when you could go with just about any cruiseline and be guaranteed a trouble free time but now cruising is becoming a lottery as to whether you are going to have an enjoyable time or are on a ship with people who think that the only way to enjoy yourself is to get blind drunk. I know that the cruise companies profits are down and that they are offering cheaper cabins and special offers like all inclusive cruises (Royal Caribbean being one of them) as in hotels the alcohol will be abused making it unpleasant for other cruisers, be careful when booking a cruise if you are after a quiet time, boozing on a cruise ship is a bad idea, people will fall overboard to their deaths, and this is what will happen before Cruise companies come to their senses and stop all inclusive on cruis ships. I hope that Costa stay as they are but I will check thoroughly now when booking a cruise or I might take a year or two away from cruising until they return to normal, but for now, well done Costa.
