Cruise Line: Ocean Village Cruises Times cruised before: 3-5
Cruise Ship: Ocean Village Two Sailed: February, 2009
Destination: Caribbean Age: 46-55
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday on OV2 in February and we are going back on OV1 Feb 2010 with friends. Its such a shame that they are disappearing. Will there be an OV3?
Quality of Food5
Excellent selection of food in both resteraunts
Entertainment4
Very modern entertainment
Shore Excursions4
Trip into the rainforest canopy in St Lucia was very interesting - specially for my husband who is a plant grower!!! Unfortunately due to 'french strikes' our trip on the Jeep safari in Martinique was cut short. OV were very good and 1/2 of our trip money was immediately refunded to our account. Lots of local taxis available and they come back for you at a time stated and you dont pay till you get back. Most of the islands we found this.
Staff4
Staff were all very helpful. Tho i have to say that i found them more friendly on the Thompson ships and island cruises ships.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities4
We didnt take part in any activities as such, but my daughter did sing in the Kareoke evenings.
Cabins4
Even tho the cabins are larger than on the thompson Destiny, the (4) cabin we had didnt have much space between the bunks. The beds are lovely and comfortable and a good size tho. Cabin kept specially clean and a even under the beds!!!!!

Thanks for your comments. We like the relaxed form of cruising you get with Ocean village, and the fact that tips are included. We are going again to the caribbean in Feb 2010 with OV before it finishes. Not travelled with P & O, but will think about it in the future.

With P&O bringing in Azura to satisfy their more traditional customer base, I wouldn't mind betting that sister ship Ventura is moved to some type of OV niche.

Doubtful unless P&O or is it Carnival decide to stay in the casual cruise market with a British style ship.
