Desie from Belfast: Royal Caribbean leaving 13-2-09 to Rio on the Carnival Cruise. We spent our first day & night in a hotel in Buenos Aires. What a waste of valuable time, it was located in what looked like the banking area of the city and because it was Saturday the hotel restaurant was CLOSED!! We could not believe it!! Hundreds in the hotel and we had to make do with a snack at the bar. This was after looking round the area for a good eating house. The cruise was generally good overall with good service from the staff and while the choise of food in the restaurant was below what we were used to it was generally very good and as much as you could eat. The pricing of the drinks & tours were well over the top and one could add several £'ss to your account for wine alone. With a 8 hour or so tour taking in the Samba Drome where all the action was "So we were Told" came in at around £450.00 pre prson - yes per person. Making this day out around £1000. for us both. we made do with the on board samba dancers & street parties close to the ship. This is our third cruise 2 R/C & 1 Princess. Over the last three years and we see a drop of standards and steep rise of on board prices. We have refused a January 2010 Royal Carribbean Cruise to the east for this reason.
