My Husband and I went on the Thomson Spirit, mediterranean-cruises/">Mediterranean Renaissance cruise and had a really good time. We had to queue for a short period to give our card details, but once on board our luggage was waiting outside our rooms and although the room was basic, it was functional and there was plenty of storage space. The food was very good, especially in the Compass Rose restaurant, which was waiter service. There was a good variety of food and plenty of it, in all the restaurants throughout the day and one was open 24 hours. The hygiene on board the Spirit was excellent and the entertainment was varied and good. The trips were good, although a little pricey, which wasn't too bad for my husband and myself, but if you had a family with you, it would have been quite expensive. All tips were included in the price of the holiday but you could leave extra tips for good service. On board everything was priced in pounds sterling, which meant you knew exactly how much you were spending. We had a really good weeks cruise and would definitely go on one again.
Quality of Food4
We ate breakfast and lunch in the Lido Restaurant which was self service and we ate in the Compass Rose Restaurant every night. We ate a lot of salad and had soup every evening as one of our courses.
Entertainment3
We went to the Broadway Show Lounge most evenings, which was mainly singing and dancing by the resident showteam. We had a comedian there two night Les Bryan who was very good. The resident group Top Men were excellent and sang a good variety of different types of music.
Shore Excursions3
The best excursion we went on was to Rome for the day by coach.
Staff4
Sylvia, our chambermaid was very good, she kept our room clean and always put chocolates on our beds, when she turned them down of a night.

Onboard Activities4
The onboard facilities were quite varied, quiet areas, casino, disco and entertainment going on at various times. There were also two pools and sundecks.
Cabins3
Wasn't sure what to expect for the cabin, but although basic, we had everything we needed and plenty of storage space. The beds were in an 'L' shape.
