Cruise Reviews

kids rule!!!!

Reviewed By: Chapman, LEICESTER on 16th Aug 2008
Cruise Line: Island Cruises Times cruised before: 3-5
Cruise Ship: Island Star Sailed: August, 2008
Destination: Mediterranean Age: 36-45
Staff fantasic and friendly, food varied and good quality. Only thing to spoil the holiday was the children running around the ship, up and down the stairs, playing in the lifts, running along corridors and taking over the pool and jaccuzzi, even though under 16's not allowed in the jaccuzzi. No pool attendant to ensure all passengers can enjoy the pool area. Serious accident waiting to happen.
Quality of Food4
Good choice of food. Would have been nice to have waiter service meals included with out having to pay extra.

Yes totally agree with you. Great staff and crew, captain, food. The swimming pool area was mobbed (8 aug), kids running wild up and down the corridors, lifts etc. We had a great trip but felt there could have been another pool area, and more sunbed areas!! REALLY STRUGGLED TO GET A SUNBED. But all in all we had a great time and would probably go on the Island star again next yr. (different itinerary).

Agree with this passenger. Have sailed 8 times with island cruises and 3 of them being with the star. Crew ,Staff, Entertainment, food all excellent except for the comedians, late night show was rubbish. It was the kids!!!! but parents have to take some of the blame for not paying attention to the rules. We also could not get in the jaccuzzi for kids and there are notices up and also its for their own healths sake that they are not to be used by children. The adults pool was also being used by children for jumping in, so adults could not even have a decent swim just for trying to avoid being landed on. The pool attendant done nothing about either. Parents please have some consideration for other passengers as they have also paid a lot of money to enjoy their holiday too. I have written to Island cruises about the pool and jacuzzis and have had a letter back that the appropiate department is being informed. We chose the 12th July as this was before the schools broke up for summer and thought this would be almost adults only but how wrong we were.

An increasingly familiar tail! I am sure that if an accident HAD occurred with one of these children running riot, then the " couldn't care less" parents would have been the first to try and claim compensation from the cruise line for their "poor little babies"! I can do without all that thanks! Happy cruising.

I fully support the view that waiter served meals should be available in the Island Restaurant
