We have both recently returned from a memorable cruise on board one of the best cruise ships in the world, the infamous 'QE2'. The food was like dining at a 5 star restaurant from breakast to our evening meal. We dinned in the 'Maurentia' which served dishes such as lobster to even a good classic such as chicken curry which was splendid. They even catered for a low fat menu option for those watching their waist lines not us!!
The service was second to none and at times you did not even begin to ask as the waiters would beat you to it. My husband did not like celery and in each dining area it was noted. The attention to detail was impecable.
As for the excursions we only participated in 2 and both were very good, they advise whether there will be alot of walking involved which is good for the maturer passenger...
There was plenty to do on board the shows were brillant and the daily programme had everything from a lecture to cooking demonstrations. There was something for everyone, if nothing takes your fancy you could always listen to the band on deck whilst getting that tan!
Overall the experience on the QE2 is one that I will treasure for the rest of my life words can not describe the historia you feel when on the ship. Some of the decor maybe slightly dated but that just adds to the charm of the ship, it will be a sad day when she sails in to Dubai and becomes a hotel. I am glad we did this voyage as one the worlds most famous ships
