Arrived at the Docks where our luggage was taken away very efficiently by a porter, but it is a great pity that one of the suitcases was "lost" and not found until around 7.30pm that evening, thus preventing one of us from going swimming, changing for dinner, etc. We were told to collect the missing case from the Card Room at 5.30 p.m., but after waiting for some time, no luggage nor personnel turned up. We were joined by many others in the same plight. One person finally found a telephoned and complained to whoever answered. We were told it was all a mistake and that we could collect the missing luggage from Reception on Deck 7. On arriving there en masse, a rather disinterested girl on Reception dealt with each person very slowly. She first wanted a description of each suitcase and contents, but the told us that all luggage had now been delivered to our cabins! This was not true, but involved many of the "Missing Luggage Brigade" running up and down to their cabins to see! One of the party then told us he had seen a small boat draw up alongside the ship and some luggage was being transferred. Was it all left behind at Southampton by accident??? I cannot say whether this was fact or not.
The cruise was good value for money once we had sorted out where and where not to go on the ship. We found the the Grand Pacific restaurant was extremely good. The waiting staff were polite and attentive there. Eating in the Garden was quite another experience and trying to find a table to sit at breakfast on the last morning was absolutely dreadful; the food was quite cold by the time we found a couple of chairs at a table to share with another person.
Getting off the ship was equally long-winded. We did not trust our luggage to them due to previous problems and had to struggle with heavy cases for what seemed like miles down gang planks, escalators, corridors, etc. It was supposed to be staggered disembarkation, but a voice over the loudspeaker told us that everyone could now leave the ship. We couldn't even get out of the lift on the deck of departure because of the great number of people queueing outside, up the stairs, etc.
Maybe they will sort out these problems before the next mini cruise.

| Although very small, it was perfectly formed! The shower was spacious and the water hot. Not sure that they supplied Elemis toiletries though as they boasted. The pot of body lotion said "NCL" Ther was very little room to get round to the side of the bed on the dressing table side, maybe about six inches leg room! | | Overall Rating | |
