New Year 2008 at sea on the Sea Princess

Cruise Ship: Sea Princess Sailed: December, 2007
Destination: Caribbean Age: 56-65
We sailed on the Sun Princess from Jamaica Montego Bay on the 29th December 2007.Our flight was from Manchester airport and after a very good journey we boarded the Sea Princess for a 14 night cruise in the Carribbean. We were welcomed on board and then went to our state rooms. We had chosen as inside cabin we were not disappointed it was spacious and clean. Our cabin stewart was very attentive and we had no cause for complaints. The meals in the restaurant were of a very high standard and our waiters efficient but not over friendly. We enjoy talking to the waiters without stopping them doing there job. We found the waiters didn`t want to talk other than do there job. Occasionally errors were made with the orders. The staff in the self service restaraunts do a very good job unfortunatley passengers let the side down by handling food with there fingers and even putting fod back on the serving trays, one lady told me she wanted a soft roll and she had to touch the food to find out if the roll was soft even though I asked her to use the food tongues she couldn`t or didn`t want to see or hear that we could all be ill if people handled the food. The staff didn`t want to tell people off as they would be marked down at the end of the cruise and the management were not allowing for a poor mark even though they were doing there best to stop people touching the food. We enjoyed the entertainment but felt that the shows were good but didn`t come up to the standard of other ships. We were also dissapointed with the day time entertainment staff we wanted to play shuffleboard and there were no equipment available when we asked we were told they had been stolen???? New Years Eve in the Carribbean is excellent with fire works being set off on the island and the ship anchored off shore. Our thanks to the Captain for going to so much troble to make New Years Eve special.Would we go again yes any small ares of concern were only minor and the rest of thwe cruise was excellent.

we were on this cruise too.Have rebooked for this new year again.only ate once in the buffet after seeing a british lady handling the food. ate all other meals on restaurant which was excellent. entertainment did not bother us as we enjoyed the long friendly second siting dinners and then had brandy in cigar lounge walk on deck and relaxed on our balcony. it was fantastic we even woke up to see dolphins swimming along side of us! The new year celebrations were excellent we were so impressed with the staff.
