P&O Oceana

We had a lovely cruise on the Oceana in January this year to the Caribbean. There were 9 in our party as my sister-in-law had decided to get married on the ship. We couldn't have asked for a better day, and would highly recommend anyone thinking of getting married on a ship to do so.They were treated like royalty although we have always felt that with all P&O cruises we have been on, we have been treated well and nothing is ever too much trouble.

The food was great, although with the Oceana they now have plate service in the main dinning rooms. However, we mainly eat in the Plaza, which used to be all al la carte but they have divided the restaurant into two sections and have a buffet offering you a different theme night every night, food there was perfect.Worthvisiting also was the Horizon Grill which is outside on deck overlooking the pool. Great service, however there is a cover charge of £7.50 which was well worth it.
Entertainment excellant. We had Gerard Kenny performing on the cruise(he wrote New York, New York so good they named it twice and theme tune from Minder). We met him a few times on the ship and had a few laughs. He was well worth going to see. The entertainment group on board (sdancers and singers) were excellant and couldnot fault any of the performances including a tribute to Freddie Mercury. All in all we had a bgreat time ports great, our favourite being St Marrtan and St Lucia but as with all the caribbean islands we felt everyone one had a different feel. We have been on the Oceana now 3 times and can't wait to go on the next one in Feb 2010, especially since it's had its refit.

Shore Excursions4
Favourite was trip to see both side of St Martaan. Although trip could have been longer perhaps all day, so we could have seen more of the french side and markets etcLeast favourite was Catamaran trip in St Vincent to see island of Bequia. Took too long and only spent a short time on snorkelling.
Staff5
All of them especially our cabin steward, he made us at home andnothing was too much trouble. Also the bar staff in Winners great.

Onboard Activities4
Great although would have liked to had a bit mopre entertaimnment on deck in the evenings.
Cabins4
OK, although the cabins with balcony on the ARCADIA are slightly bigger. However, they are very clean, and the little extra touch of the chocolate on the pillow on a night time was lovely.
