This was our first cruise experience and we had booked with a group of friends - 16 of us in all. We were celebrating a variety of milestones, a 50th (which fell whilst on the cruise), a 40th and two 25th wedding anniversaries (one of them ours). We were a bit apprehensive before we went, but have to say we are now cruise converts! The staff couldn't do enough for you and were great fun. The shows were good with Darren Day a revelation when it comes to impressions. The theatre company shows were a bit cheesy, particularly the Abba one, but the older passengers enjoyed them and they were entertaining. Because there were so many of us we had decided not to book any excursions, but explore Amsterdam and Brugges ourselves and what a fantastic way to explore two wonderful and very different cities. The weather couldn't have been better for the time of year - the sun shone the whole weekend. The clouds met us back at Southampton on Tuesday morning! Overall we think the cruise was great value for money, excellent food, first class service and would recommend a mini cruise as a way to get a taster to see if it is for you. We certainly plan to book another cruise some time in the future. Thank you P&O for an enjoyable holiday.
