Fantastic Cruise

Reviewed By: Cooper, Great Ayton on 5th Oct 2008

Cruise Ship: Island Star Sailed: September, 2008
Destination: Mediterranean Age: 56-65
Just returned from a weeks cruise on island-cruises-summer-holidays/">Island Star. What a fantastic time we had, it was the first time we had cruised on this ship, we would recommend anyone to go on it. Cabins are spacious, we had a balcony cabin, the only thing we missed in it was a fridge and tea making facilities, which we have always had before on other crise ships we have been on. The staff were great. The Captain well he was somehing else, he was absolutely brilliant, he joined in everything. We have cruised on Ocean Village many times which we like, but the entertainment is'nt a patch as it is on Island Star. we will be definately cruising with them again

Nice to hear you enjoyed this cruise and that you are NOT a first time cruiser so you do have others to compare it to!! I fear that these reviews are misleading to those who dont have the experience of several cruises to compare and contrast with. I have only cruised once with Princess the rest have been with the now defunct, Sun Bird (Island but now Thompsons Destiny) and Escape (Island) so looking forward to our trip on the weekend - 2 weeks round the med - I will certainly write a candid review on my return warts and all!! If you have the time I would be interest Mr.or Mrs. Cooper, to know what other cruises you had been on and how they compared, e xcept for the obvious grandeur of surroundings that you are paying for.

Thankyou for replying to my review. We have sailed with Ocean Village one and Ocean Village two, we have been to most Carribean Islands and most place round the Med with these ships and always had a fantastic time, could not fault these two ships. The Island Star could do with a little makeover, as with Ocean Village the decor is tip top. To compare the two we would say they are pretty much the same, but as I said in my review the entertainment was better on Island Star. We are cruising with Ocean Village two yet again in May 2009, two weeks round the Greek Islands. Our first cruise was on the Sunbird we really enjoyed it, thats what gave us the cruising bug. (don't know what its like now). Hope you enjoy your cruise
