This was our seventh cruise and our second with MSC, it was mostly a nice cruise on MSC Armonia and we did have a good time. However, we were disappointed to only have a rather brief, practically pointless, late stop in Gibraltar, where everything bar the resturants was closing and although we were aware of this from the itinerary it was not actually necessary as we could have left our previous port much earlier.
We also felt that the evening entertainment was somewhat lacking after our delightful experiences on other ships, one in particular that springs to mind - 'The Calypso' - which although having a tiny stage compared to Armonia's huge one, proving that bigger is not always better!, was fantastic and extremely professional.
Another gripe which dampened our spirits were the poor customer relations from the Reception staff after the on-board loss of a camera. They did not really come across as showing much concern/interest and this was definitely an area, we considered, to be in urgent need of attention.
Many people complained about having to pay for water with their meals and we are in agreement, we also felt that the drinks and photos were rather expensive. Something else to watch out for was that the 'hot food' selection in the self-service grill was generally cold.
All in all it seems a shame that such a beautifully well-maintained ship, with mostly hard-working, customer focused, personnel did not match our previous cruises and we will certainly be looking to book elsewhere on another occasion!
