Cruise Line: Island Cruises Times cruised before: 10+
Cruise Ship: The Island Escape Sailed: November, 2007
Destination: South America Age: 65+
having cruised for over 40 years with most of the established cruise lines we were very apprehensive about going on a cruise that seemed so free and easy compared with the cruises that we have always enjoyed, but what a fantastic and eye opening experience the island-cruises-summer-holidays/">Island Escape turned out to be, excellent food,--served when you want it, fantastic entertainment(the artist frankie de soto in the piano bar was the best we have ever seen) the shows were out of this world and without doubt this ship in general is amongst the highest on our list of all we have ever sailed on, informal, excellent, fantastic, peter c dickens

Answer by dickens, Stoke on Trent (29 Sep 08 15:27) to a QUESTION by maclean (28 Sep 08 15:33)
Hi mr maclean, firstly be careful in some of the ports in south america that the ship calls in, try and go ashore either in the shuttle bus ,or if walking go with a crowd. if the ship retains your passports, make sure you have them when you go ashore or you will not be able to change any money or travellers cheques without a passport, in rio go into the port terminal to book a days trip in an official car to see the sights(sugar loaf, christ the redeemer etc )very good value, regards
