My husband and I have just returned from an excellent cruise in the mediterranean-cruises/">Mediterranean aboard the Seabourn Legend and we are in the process of booking another cruise with them for next year. We joined the ship in Nice for a 14 day cruise around Spain and France. We saw some wonderful places including Valencia, Tarragona, Mahon in Menorca, Palma Mallorca, Marseilles and St Tropez to name a few. At first we were disappointed with the size of the suite. It was smaller than on the Silver Whisper. It was extrememly clean, comfortable and very quiet. Our first two nights in the main restaurant were disappointing. My food was cold but we had been invited onto a hosted table for 10 people and I think that was a mistake. Unless you like dining in large groups I would stick to smaller tables. The second evening when we returned to our suite there was a questionnaire from the Hotel Manager wanting to know what we thought so far. My husband put down about the food. We had already decided that we wouldn't return to Seabourn. Well - what can we say - I think we had been extremely unfortunate because from that moment on things changed. All our meals were excellent. The service is the best we've had anywhere on land or sea. All the staff know your name which is amazing as there are about 200 people on board with at least half changing once a week. It's champagne all the way - you never sit with an empty glass!! The wine at mealtimes was of good quality. The entertainment is limited because it's a small ship but that suits us as we are quite happy to sit over our dinner and then go for a stroll on deck. A few nights they had ' movies under the stars' and we had an excellent band on-board - dancing under the stars is magical. There was a wide range of ages and nationalities on board. This isn't a cruise for children as there are no facilities for them. I would certainly recommend this cruise line and we are certainly going to return next year.

Shore Excursions
We only joined one trip which was complementary. Seabourn have what they call a 'Seabourn Experience' once a week. We missed the Mallorca one as we were visiting friends on the island but during our second wekk we left the ship in Le Lavendou, France and were taken by coach to a lovely vineyard where we were shown how the wine was made and there were lots of samples to try. It was anexcellent afternoon and a lovely drive through beautiful scenery.

All of them - amazing!

Not a cruise for children
Onboard Activities
There were games of Bridge and Port talks but daytime activities were limited as we were in port most days. That suits us as we like to do our own thing.
Cabins
A little smaller than our suite on Silver Sea but we were very satisfied. It was extremely quiet too which was wonderful.
